MEDICAL APPLICATIONS

Electropolishing
Medical device manufacturers have come to rely on ESI's electropolishing expertise to handle the most complex edge forming applications. Other advantages of our electropolishing process include burr removal, tolerance correction, stress reduction and cleanliness. We also offer anti-galling coatings including tin/nickel and silver plating. Our passivation process passes cytotoxcity testing for titanium implants. ESI also passes pyrogen testing performed on most stainless steel surgical instruments. Our facility includes Class 100 and 1000 Clean Rooms for ultra-pure inspection, cleaning and packaging of medical components.

Titanium Anodizing
Our titanium anodize process combined with passivation produces implant grade cleanliness, while colors provide for product identification. The process also improves the fatigue strength of the titanium, with minimal dimensional change. ESI processes in accordance with AMS 2488 offering colors and Type II, or per customer specification.

Advantages of Titanium Color Anodize:
Large color spectrum
Product identification
Clean, passive surface
Biocompatible

Advantages of Titanium Type II Anodize:
Anti-galling
Lubrication
Increased resistance to galvanic corrosion
Biocompatible

Nitinol Stents
Our proprietary nitinol and titanium polishing process produces a bright finish that is free of stress. Our process is one of the most effective treatments of nitinol to produce a uniform layer of oxide resulting in a dramatically enhanced performance, corrosion resistance, fatigue and appearance. Our process not only removes burrs, and scratches but creates an entirely new surface, with a protective oxide film responsible for the material's outstanding corrosion resistance and biocompatibility.
Laser Marking
Our high quality laser marking process allows us to permanently mark your parts accurately and consistently with the highest levels of detail and repeatability. Laser marking is an efficient way to add logos, product ID, serial numbers and bar codes to parts of all shapes and sizes.
